MARK TURGEON is the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Maryland. He has signed consecutive nationally-ranked recruiting classes, led Maryland to its most wins in a season in six years, and taken the Terrapins back to the postseason. After bringing in a top-15 recruiting class in 2012, Turgeon directed Maryland to three wins over a ranked team in 2012-13, including No. 1 Duke.

Dan Monson
DAN MONSON is the head men’s basketball coach at Long Beach State University. His second recruiting class at Long Beach is considered the best recruiting class of all time. Monson is also responsible for building Gonzaga into a national power during his two-year stay.

Rob Jeter
ROB JETER is the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The 2011 Horizon League Coach of the Year started his Panther head coaching career with a league title and an NCAA tournament win. Jeter is also one of just two coaches in UWM history to lead his teams to three postseason berths and three 20-win seasons.

FRAN MCCAFFERY is the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Iowa. The Coach of the Year award winner has guided Iowa to back-to-back NIT appearances, including a runner-up finish in 2013.

Tax Deductions
Treasury Regulation 1-162-5 permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees, cost of travel, meals, and lodging) undertaken to 1) maintain or improve skills required in one’s employment or other trade or business; 2) meet expressed requirements of an employer or a law imposed as a condition to retention of employment, job status, or rate of compensation. The IRS recommends you keep a daily log of expenses in accordance with this regulation.
