In addition, the site offers several options in the areas of motivation and education, including teaching mental preparation and performance enhancement techniques to coaches and athletes.
Dr. Steve Brennan, the founder of thebestcollegerecruiter.com, brings a wealth of experience, excitement, and creativity to the field of motivation and education. The former college basketball coach and former college basketball referee was an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and has Masters degrees in Educational Administration and Sport Psychology, and a Doctorate in Performance and Health Psychology.

I’ve also had the great honor to be included in editions of The World Sport Psychology Sourcebook, World Sport Psychology Who’s Who, Who’s Who in American Education, Two Thousand Notable American Men, Who’s Who in the World and the International Who’s Who of Business Entrepreneurs.
Currently, I am the founder and president of Peak Performance Consultants, the executive director of The Recruiters Institute™, the director of The Recruiters Library™, and the founder and executive director of the Midwest Youth Coaches Association. I am also the President and CEO of The Center for Performance Enhancement Research and Education™.
Our Company Timeline
- Dr. Steve Brennan conducted a national research study on the topic of college athletic recruiting. A major finding confirmed that 70% of college coaches were teaching themselves how to recruit.
- As a direct result of the findings in his recruiting research study, Dr. Brennan created The Recruiters Institute™, a national educational seminar organized to teach college coaches how to become the best recruiters at their schools. During this initial three-day conference held in Omaha, Nebraska, speakers included present and former college coaches, writing specialists, telemarketing experts, salespeople, and others in the fields of communication and mass marketing. All sessions were audio-recorded.
- After conducting The Recruiters Institute™ in Omaha for three years, the annual conference began operating in select cities nationally. Through conference evaluation forms, the format was streamlined into a two-day seminar featuring 10 sessions. Attendees also preferred that speakers were either present coaches or coaches away from the profession for two years or less. All sessions continued to be recorded.
- To act as an official repository for all the recruiting sessions recorded and recruiting materials developed since 1993, the domain www.thebestcollegerecruiter.com was created.
- The Recruiters Institute™ was transformed from a live venue format into a webcast format. The change was made to take advantage of technological advances, lower production costs, and attract a larger group of participants through lower registration fees.
- The computer server housing the website was cyber-attacked by Russian hackers. Refusing the demand of a $500,000 ransom to release the contents, the website was locked and all e-commerce from the site was terminated.
- The newly re-imagined website is created and activated.
